The vehicle, bearing registration number AS23 CC 8351, was taken into police custody following the interception. Officials subsequently confirmed that it was the Tata DI vehicle allegedly linked to the theft case.
The arrest and recovery are being viewed as an important development in the investigation into the reported vehicle theft. Police are now examining how the vehicle was allegedly stolen, where it had been taken from and the circumstances under which it came into the possession of the accused.
Investigators are also expected to question the arrested suspect to determine whether he acted alone or had assistance from other individuals. Authorities may further examine his previous activities and communications to establish whether there are links to other vehicle theft cases in the region.
Police are also looking into the possibility of a broader vehicle-lifting network operating across parts of Upper Assam. If evidence of such a connection emerges, the investigation could be expanded to identify other individuals allegedly involved in the movement or disposal of stolen vehicles.
The recovered Tata DI vehicle has been secured as part of the investigation, while further legal proceedings against the accused are expected to follow. Authorities are continuing their probe to establish the complete sequence of events surrounding the alleged theft and recovery.
