Gunotsav 2027 will be conducted across schools in Assam from January 6 to February 5, 2027, with Samagra Shiksha, Assam announcing the official schedule following approval from the Assam government.
Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, Assam, Ayush Garg, has issued a communication to the District Mission Coordinators and District Programme Coordinators of all districts, outlining the phase-wise schedule for the annual school assessment programme.
The exercise will be conducted across the state’s 35 districts in three phases, with schools undertaking self-assessment followed by external evaluation.

Phase I: January 6–9
The first phase will cover 13 districts — Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup Metropolitan, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Golaghat, Sivasagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, Udalguri, Jorhat and Karbi Anglong.
Self-assessment will be conducted on January 6, followed by external evaluation on January 7, 8 and 9.
Phase II: January 19–22
The second phase will cover 12 districts — Baksa, Biswanath, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhubri, Hailakandi, Hojai, Kamrup, Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia and West Karbi Anglong.
Schools in these districts will carry out self-assessment on January 19, while external evaluation will take place on January 20, 21 and 22.
Phase III: February 2–5
The final phase will include 10 districts — Bongaigaon, Dhemaji, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao and Majuli.
Self-assessment in these districts is scheduled for February 2, followed by external evaluation on February 3, 4 and 5.
In view of the announced schedule, Mission Director Ayush Garg has directed district authorities to initiate all necessary preparations, including the formation of committees and other arrangements required for the smooth conduct of Gunotsav 2027.
