The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) is set to organise a major Youth Conclave in Guwahati during the first week of September 2026, with the party seeking to strengthen its engagement with the state’s younger generation and encourage greater youth participation in public life.
The announcement was made through an APCC press note issued on August 17. According to the statement, APCC president Gaurav Gogoi has taken the initiative to organise the event as a platform where young people can exchange ideas, discuss contemporary challenges and explore their role in shaping the future of Assam and the country.

The proposed conclave is expected to place considerable emphasis on youth empowerment, participation and leadership. The Congress has said the programme will seek to inspire and educate young people while creating opportunities for them to engage in discussions on issues related to society, development and nation-building.
As part of the preparations, the APCC has assigned organisational responsibilities to a team comprising Dr Jay Prakash Das, former MLA Satyabrata Kalita, Jayanta Khaound, NSUI president Kaushik Kashyap, Ashik Iqbal, Palakshi Das, Birinchi Bora and Kuldeep Rajbongshi.
The organising team will be responsible for coordinating the various aspects of the proposed gathering and ensuring that the event provides a meaningful platform for young participants. Interactive sessions and discussions are expected to form an important part of the programme, with the objective of encouraging young people to contribute their perspectives and ideas.
The Congress has described the initiative as an effort to channel the energy and potential of Assam’s youth towards constructive participation in the development of the state and the nation.
However, the APCC press note has not yet revealed the exact venue, detailed agenda or complete schedule of the conclave. More information regarding the participating leaders, speakers and discussion topics is expected to be announced closer to the event.
The September gathering is likely to serve as an important opportunity for the party to connect with young people across Assam and discuss ways to expand their involvement in political and social activities.
