One student lost his life while two others sustained serious injuries after the auto-rickshaw they were travelling in collided with a car in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district. The accident took place on Saturday along the Dhansiri-Diphu road when the three students were reportedly heading to attend an Independence Day programme in the area.
According to police, the students were travelling together in the auto when it was involved in a collision with a car. The impact left all three students injured and prompted an immediate rescue response. They were taken to Diphu Medical College and Hospital for medical attention.
The condition of one of the injured students, a male, was reportedly serious. After receiving initial treatment at the Diphu hospital, doctors referred him to a medical facility in Dimapur for further care. However, his condition deteriorated while he was being shifted, and he later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the accident.
The other two victims, both female students, continue to receive treatment at Diphu Medical College and Hospital. Their medical condition is being monitored by doctors as they recover from the injuries caused by the collision.

All three students were residents of Daldali Mesebdainyah village under Dhansiri and had been travelling to take part in an Independence Day celebration being organised in the locality. What was supposed to be a routine journey to attend the national celebration ended in tragedy for the students and their families.
Police have taken note of the accident and are examining the circumstances that led to the collision between the auto-rickshaw and the car. Further details regarding the cause of the crash and the condition of the injured students are awaited.
